Apparently, John Denver has it out for the boys of my family. Peter received his mission call yesterday and he will be serving in the Charleston, West Virginia mission. The funny thing is, that is where his brother is currently serving and where their uncle Eddie served his mission years ago.
We all gathered at Peter's home last night with baited breathe and outrageous predictions ranging from Madagascar to Albequeque and when he finally opened the envelope and read "West Virginia" there was pandemonium. No one beleived him until they actually got to read the letter themselves. Grandma and Grandpa were blown away, probablly not as much as Peter though.
Here's the interesting thing. Peter reports to the MTC on May 17. He will arrive at the mission home on June 7. Alex will be in the mission home on June 7 and will be heading home on June 8. How about that! Peter was trying to avoid his pesky older brother and he is going to spend his first night on the mission with Alex on his last night. I suppose this is a perfect example of how the "Lord works in mysterious ways."
